Blog — the 100 day project

I'm doing the 100 Day Project again this year! I had a great time last year doing #100daysofengraving and I really learned a lot from putting even five minutes a day into my practice. This year, I'm going to be exploring different ways of making texture of metal (think hammering, filing, engraving, etc.) and I'll be making finished pieces of jewelry with my texture explorations.  I sketched out some rough ideas for this collection using armadillo armor as my main inspiration. I've been watching other makers do the 100 Day Project for the last several years, and this year I'm finally committing to the project. The creators of the project recommend approaching it with a mindset of either play, practice, or produce, so I'm doing play/practice with engraving for #the100dayproject. I'm using dice to choose what to engrave every day, and that will make the project more playful and take some planning pressure off me.
