Custom Design Process
1. Consultation
Your consultation and first round of images are totally free. So don't be shy, let's get started! To start out, tell me all about you: what you do, what your style is like, what you're hoping for in this piece of jewelry. Send your message through my Contact Page, and I'll get back to you with photo-realistic mock-ups of your custom jewelry. Once we're headed in the right direction, I'll work up a price estimate for you, too.
2. Design Revisions
All of my custom designs are created using CAD (computer-aided design). Often, I go through one or two rounds of revisions with clients. This is totally normal! It takes care and effort to make sure your custom jewelry design is just right.
***A $250 design deposit is needed to proceed from the initial design stage to design revisions and/or selecting a gemstone for your project.
3. Diamond and Gemstone Selection
This is always an exciting step in the design process. I can design for your heirloom gemstones, and I am also happy to source diamonds or gemstones for you based on your vision and budget. Sourcing can take anywhere from one week to a few months, depending on what you’re after.
***At this point in the process, a 50% down payment is required. The remainder will be due when your custom order is ready to ship.
4. Casting and Setting
Your piece will be cast locally in the metal of your choice. From there, the piece is polished by hand and prepped for setting. Allowing a few weeks for casting, polishing, and setting is necessary to ensure your precious gems are secured properly.
5. Final Details
I always take a few photographs of the finished piece to share on my website and social media. Feel free to share them on yours, too!
