FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About Custom Jewelry
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Custom jewelry sounds like an expensive luxury, but I think it should be available to anyone, especially for wedding and engagement rings. You only get married once; your symbolic rings should be unique and meaningful. That’s why I try to offer my work at a variety of price points. Most custom diamond engagement rings that I create fall between $4000 and $15,000.
I ask for a nonrefundable 50% payment after the custom design has been finalized, and the balance upon completion. You can pay with cash, check, or credit card.
HOW DO I SHOW YOU WHAT I WANT?
Any information you can provide is super helpful, especially for engagement rings.
- Do you want white, yellow, or rose metal?
- Will the center be a round diamond, oval, or princess cut? Or would you prefer a more unusual cut?
- What is the finger size?
Throughout the process, I will show you designs, revisions, and the diamonds we are going to use. That way, you know exactly what you're going to receive when the job is finished.
CAN I GIVE YOU A PHOTO OF EXACTLY WHAT I WANT?
If you have a picture of what you like, please send that along! I wouldn't want to rip off another artist's work, but I can create something in the same vein, with my own interpretation guiding the design. There is nothing I want more than to create your dream piece of jewelry.
HOW'S IT SHIPPED?
All custom pieces are shipped using either UPS or FedEx. For items with gold, platinum or diamonds, your shipment will require a signature unless you choose to waive it (though this isn't recommended!). Your custom jewelry will arrive in a gift box.
HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU MAKE MY CUSTOM PIECE?
How fast a piece is completed depends mainly on how quickly we settle on the finalized design. I will send you two or three custom designs, and once you approve the finalized design, I usually ship the custom piece out within three to four weeks. Your custom jewelry is created using computer-aided design, then it is 3D printed, cast, cleaned, tumbled, polished, and set. All of these processes take time, but if you have a specific date in mind, I will do my best to rush the job for you.
If you’re interested in commissioning a piece of jewelry from me, you can reach out through my Contact Page, or email me at email@example.com. Please let me know if you have questions that I didn't answer, and I will incorporate them into this page in the future to help other potential clients. I’m excited to design for you!
HOW DO YOU SAY ALANIZ, ANYWAYS?
It's pronounced AL-uh-NEEZ. It's rhymes with Ruiz ... it's Mexican!
