There are so many great options in Philadelphia for engagement shoots and wedding photography, and one of my favorites is Fairmount Park. There's everything from Japanese gardens to open fields to historical architecture. Keep reading to find out my top 5 reasons why Fairmount Park is the perfect spot for your Philadelphia wedding or engagement photography session.

1. There is a ton of variety in Fairmount Park. Among more than 2000 acres of rolling hills you can find ponds, lush fields, ancient trees, and shaded woodlands for your outdoor wedding photography session. If you're looking for a more architectural Philadelphia photo shoot setting that's a little more formal, check out the Smith Memorial Arch in West Fairmount Park, located near the Mann Center for Performing Arts. The massive columns and stone masonry offer a more structured look for your wedding photos.
2. Pets can be included! Feel free to bring your (leashed) dog along, they're permitted in most areas of the park.

3. Tons of amenities. Many spots in Fairmount Park have close parking, paved walking paths, water fountains, even bathrooms. Your wedding or engagement photography session can have a country or woodland feel, all with the perks of being within city limits.
4. It's easily accessible by the highway. Don't live in Philadelphia proper? No worries! Fairmount Park is easily located right off the highway. Both East Fairmount Park and West Fairmount Park are accessible from the Schuylkill Expressway.

5. Fairmount Park is beautiful any time of the year. Planning a winter wedding? No worries! The architecture, rolling woodlands, and riverfront offer all kinds of winter wonderland vibes that make for gorgeous photographs even when there's a chill in the air.
