Capsule Jewelry Collection: Beach Vacation

If you've whittled the contents of your closet into a capsule wardrobe (check out a few of my favorite capsule wardrobe guides at Un-Fancy and Anushka Rees/formerly Into Mind), you know the benefits. More space, less mess, and fewer decisions to make every day.

Why not apply this streamlining to your jewelry collection as well? When I'm heading out of town, I make a mental list of the places I'll be spending most of my time. Then, I can figure out how to pack just a few key pieces of jewelry that work in every situation.

My style for the summer is minimal, neutral, and mix and match. For a week-long trip to the beach I packed five pieces of jewelry (not including my wedding rings!) that work for all of these situations:

Shopping / Mini-golf / Lunch Date

During the day I always wear a small pair of earrings. The pair I've been wearing on repeat are the Mini Hazel Earrings (Did you know I design jewelry for Navona Handmade? If not, go check us out!). I'll also throw on either a large pendant necklace, or one of the two rings I packed. I brought along the Portal Ring (very nautical) and the Hazel Ring. Done and done.

A Day at the Beach or Pool

Between sand, surf, and suntan lotion, there are a lot of opportunities to scratch, dull, or even lose your favorite jewelry. I recommend leaving your jewelry at home during a beach or pool day. If you really need to accessorize, try a fabulous caftan and a floppy hat!

Dinner at a Nice Restaurant

For a fancy night out, I'll wear either the Magnolia Leaf Pendant or a pair of statement earrings, like the Magnolia Circle Drop Earrings. I wouldn't wear both together, but if you want to, more power to you!

I'll also wear my wedding ring, engagement ring, and both silver rings I packed. Even when I'm trying to pack light, with rings I say the more the merrier!

xo,
Christine
