How to Get the Engagement Ring You Actually Want

engagement rings

I design engagement rings for a living, so this is a topic that comes up on a regular basis. How can women make sure they receive an engagement ring they love, while still getting a surprise proposal?

Christine Alaniz Designs rose gold engagement ring with a round brilliant diamond in a bezel setting, a pavé halo, and a plain shank

This might be easier than you think.

Start a Pinterest board! Figure out the essential style elements that are important to you:

  • What shape stone do you like? Round, princess cut, marquise, oval...
  • Yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, or platinum?
  • Is a classic solitaire important to you, or do you crave more bling?
  • Are you a vintage lover, or are modern angles more your style?

If you haven't already made yourself a Dream Engagement Ring board on Pinterest, do yourself a favor and make one now. Like, right now. I know it sounds presumptuous, but you don't get the things you don't ask for, right?

If you really want to cover all your bases, drop by a local jeweler and figure out your ring size. Or, send me an email and I'll mail you one! Once you figure it out, you can always note it on your Pins.
