Seeking protection? My work often references protective structures of the natural world such as armored shells and mimicry camouflage. This current body of work utilizes foldforming and die-pressing to create strength and structure. The metal pieces are then coated in numerous thin layers of vitreous, glass enamel. The bold, graphic patterns I create are derived from the underbelly of painted turtles, whose shells feature a brilliant red hue.
